User Experience Design

Skills I bring to the table.

User Research

Building empathy with your users is key to beginning any project. I’ve been involved in and lead exercises in user surveys, needs finding, interviewing, competitive research, empathy mapping, user personas and ethnographic studies.

UX Team Building

Getting a UX team up and running or finding new ways for your team to create in agile? I’ll help you figure out the operations side of design, train your team for success and help facilitate workshops that will break down creative barriers. Design thrives on collaboration and working out ideas quickly.

Information Architecture

How information is organized is as important as how it is accessed. It needs to be clear, findable, understandable and in the users language. Start every project by understanding the underlying architecture and key flows a user will take.

WireFraming

A wireframe allows you to know if a solution will work before you spend any time making it look good. It can serve as a blueprint for each screen and interaction. Wireframing defines the elements that need to be present from page to page. If it works flat and grey, it’s going to be great colored in.

Usability Testing

Quantitative data is great and very important to study, but it can only tell you what users are doing. Not the why. I test every new feature and new designs with users to see why they like and dislike certain experiences.

Prototyping

Build it quick in order to test it. This is where I spend the majority of my time. Prototyping experiences so I can see how users will interact with them. It can be as simple as a sketch on paper. Or a high-fidelity prototype that looks like the real thing.

I’ve been a professional UX/UI Designer and Leader for over Ten years.

Whether you have an idea or a functioning product. I can walk you through a design thinking process or workshop that will bring your app or website, its features, flows, screens and interactions to life.

First we define the problem and then we solve it through iterative design and testing.

I don’t like to stop at the wire-framing phase of a project. I believe the look and feel of a product can be just as important as how it works. If it’s a digital product we’re talking about, you can’t have a User Experience without a User Interface. It should be as beautiful as it is useful.
